Mrs. George Bonner, of the Forth, passed peacefully away at 9 o'clock on Thursday morning. The deceased was ill only a fortnight. With a daughter and two others, she then went as far as the Lower Wilmot bridge, seemingly in her usual health at midday, when she left her home, but about 5 p.m., while on the bridge, she had a paralytic stroke and never recovered consciousness or speech. She leaves a sorrowing husband, two daughters (Mrs. T. Bailey, of Auburn, Vic. and Mrs. T. Collett, of Ulverstone), and one son (Mr. Leslie Bonner, of Ulverstone), also an only sister, Mrs. T. W. Monds, of Launceston. All the family were with her at the last, Mrs. Bailey arriving by the Coogee on Wednesday night. Mrs. Bonner was born in London in 1834. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock to-morrow.

The cortege was a large one, people coming from Ulverstone, Upper Castra, North Motton, Gawler and East Devonport, some hundreds being present to testify to the esteem in which the deceased lady was held throughout a very wife district. The principal mourners were the husband of deceased (Mr. G. Bonner), Mr. L. Bonner (the only son of deceased), Mr. T. Collett and Mr. John Bailey (sons-in-law), Mr. T. W. Monds and Mr. Fred Bonner (brothers-in-law), Mr. Grainger and family and Messrs G and P Brumby. At the grave the Revs Green and Heblethwaite said the last sad rights and "Safe in the arms of Jesus" was sung. So large were the floral emblems that a trap had to be used for their conveyance. The greatest sympathy is felt for the bereaved ones and respect for the deceased.
