DEATH OF MR. E. EASTON
The death occurred at his residence, East Devonport, during Friday night of Mr. Edward Easton, at the advanced age of 82 years. For some time past, deceased had been in very indifferent health, and during the last week was unconscious, the end coming peacefully. Mr. Easton came out from England about 50 years ago, and a good term was spent in the Evandale district, where he followed farming pursuits. He then moved to Kentish, where he was similarly engaged and about 18 or 20 years ago came to reside at East Devonport. He leaves a widow, but no family. Mr. Easton was always keenly interested in matters pertaining to the welfare of the district in which he lived, and was deeply respected by all whom had the pleasure of his friendship. He had the correct idea of what was due between man and man, and, in his younger days particularly, was an acquisition to any movement with which he was associated. He was one of the first members of the loyal Clarendon Lodge, M.U.I.O.O.F., at Evandale, and instrumental in founding the Loyal Rose Lodge Sheffield. Members of the order are requested to attend the funeral, which takes place at the Mersey bluff cemetery at 3 p.m. to day.
