The funeral of the late Mr. W. Gilderson, the State school teacher at Kindred, took place on Saturday afternoon, in the Wesleyan Cemetery, Kindred. There was a very large attendance, including church officials from various parts of the circuit, as well as a good number of the brethren of the Star of the Forth Tent, I.O.R., of which deceased was a member, four of whom carried his remains to the church and grave. The Rev. J. R. Bradbury conducted, the solemn service in the church and at the grave and gave a short address. The pulpit, where the deceased had often stood up to preach the gospel, was draped in black. He will be a great loss to the church and Sunday school in the district. Although of a quiet and retiring disposition, he has done much good to the community in which he resided. At the close of the burial service Mr. F. Bowden, secretary of the tent, read the usual Rechabite service, the brethren singing two hymns, one before and another at the close. Although the weather was bitterly cold, the rain kept off till evening.
