Last Rites:


The remains of the late Mr. David Howe, of Kindred, were interred at the local Methodist cemetery on Sunday. The pall-bearers were Messrs. W. S. & G. Watson (step sons) and W Martin (nephew). The Home Missionary (Mr. James) conducted the burial service. A very large attendance and fine display of wreaths bore testimony to the respect in which deceased was held.

FUNERAL

The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon of Mrs. Charlotte How, who passed away at her residence at Kindred early on Tuesday morning. There was a good attendance, including friends and relatives from other parts. The cortege left deceased's late residence and the remains were laid to rest in the Methodist cemetery, Mr. Hawkey conducting the service. The pall-bearers were Messrs. H. D. Pickett, T. Bryan, T. Barnes and G. Medwin. The chief mourners were three sons and two daughters and Messrs. Barnes and Martin (sons-in-law) and Pickett and Bryan (nephews). The late Mrs. How was an old resident of the district and was widely known and respected. She was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Bryan, of Mole Creek. Her husband predeceased her twelve months ago. She leaves a family of three sons and two daughters - Messrs. S. Watson, G. Watson and D. Watson, and Mesdames Barnes (Ulverstone) and Martin (Mole Creek).
