Yesterday morning Mr. Thos. Jarrett, the aged father of the Rev. W. Jarrett, Congregational minister, breathed his last. He was 74 years of age, and came to Tasmania with his son some few months ago, when the latter arrived from Broken Hill to assume the pastorate of the Congregational church. Despite his advanced age, he led an active life until the last few weeks; he had been hovering between life and death for over a fortnight. The funeral is announced to leave Victoria Parade at 11 o’clock this morning for the Don cemetery.
