JONES – Elvie Beatrice – Passed away at Tasman House, Devonport on March 5, 1992, aged 86. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Frederick (Jim) and Daphne (NSW), Robert (Bob) and Beverly (Railton), Elizabeth (Joy) and Eddie Harrison (Sprent). Loved Nan of Trevor and Nancy, Dwayne, Dale and Adele Jones, Lynne and David Campbell, Neil, Leigh, Maree and Nigel Harrison. Great Nan of Natalie Jones, Amanda Campbell and Nathan Jones. Loved daughter of the late Louisa Mary and Robert William Howell (Forth), sister of Vera Brereton (Broadford, Vic.), John (Jack) Howell (dec., Bridport), Violet Prouse (dec., Forth), Mabel White (dec. Swan Hill, Vic.) and Nona Howell (dec.).

JONES – The funeral of the late Joseph Moses Jones is appointed to leave the Devon Public Hospital on Sunday July 5 at 1.15pm arriving at the Congregational Church, Forth at 2pm. Friends are respectfully invited to attend.

The death occurred at the Devon Public Hospital last week of Mr. Joseph Jones, a well-known and highly respected Forth resident. The interment took place at the Forth Cemetery on Sunday, the officiating minister being Mr. J. K. Storey of the Congregational Church, Devonport. There was a large gathering at the graveside, and a profusion of floral tributes testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Deceased was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. William Jones, of Forth, and in 1903 was married to Harriet Susan, daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Thomas Johnson of Devonport. He leaves a widow and family of 10, while one member of the family predeceased him. The daughters are Mrs. G. Allen, Castra, Mrs. A.G. Wellard, Ulverstone, Mrs. C. Winwood, Ulverstone, Mrs. C. Haywood, West Ridgley, and Misses Daphne and Mary Jones; while the sons are Messrs. Walter, Arthur and Joseph Jones. The chief mourners were deceased’s widow and family, sons-in-law Messrs. G. Allen, A.G. Wellard, C. Winwood and C. Haywood; sister Mrs. W. Purton, Sprent, and brother Mr. William Jones of Wilmot. The carriers at the Devon Hospital were Messrs. Percy Bellchambers, James Oakley, William and Leonard Purton; and at the graveside Messrs. W. Purton, L. Purton, Walter Purton and Harold Purton.

The funeral of the late Master Lloyd Campbell Jones will leave his parents (Rev. D. S. Jones) residence, Don Road, Wednesday (This Day), at 2 p.m., for the Bluff Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation.

The Rev. D. S. And Mrs. Jones of Devonport, sustained a sad bereavement yesterday in the death of their second son, Lloyd Campbell, who had just passed four years of age. He had been ailing for a few weeks and recently went to Sheffield for a change of climate. Almost immediately upon his return, he passed away. The sympathy of a large circle of friends will be extended to the bereaved parents in their misfortune. The funeral will take place at the Mersey Bluff cemetery at 2 p.m. today.
