KEEP
Nellie Keep
Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery Forth
Died 5th Aug 1916
Age 22 years
The death occurred early on Saturday of Mrs. W. Keep who was the third oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Denis Leary of Forthside. She had only been married for some two or three years and her last illness was brief a husband and two young children being left to mourn their loss of one who was deservedly popular. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon and the cortege was the largest seen at the Forth for many years all classes and creed being represented and it was impossible for all the people to get into the church where the first portion of the burial service was performed by the Rev Father Dowling. As the coffin was borne out of the sacred building the Dead March from “Soul” was played. The body was then interred in the picturesque cemetery on the hill. The Rev. M. J. Dowling remarked that although it was not customary to speak on theses occasions, he felt he must say a few word about the dear soul just departed, a loving character to know whom was to esteem. The chief mourners were Messrs. W. Keep (husband), Denis Leary (father) Con, John and Denis Leary (brothers), Michael and James Leary, Daniel Healy (uncles) and a number of other relatives. The pall bearers were Messrs A. Blair, A. Habner, J. Keep and D. Flight
