The Funeral of the late Mrs. Maria Ann Lapthorne will leave her late residence, Don, at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, the 7th, for the Don Cemetery.

The death occurred at Don yesterday of Mrs. Lapthorne relict of the late Mr. George Lapthorne, at the age of 76 years. The deceased was a native of Hobart, and had resided for about 50 years at the Don. She had been ailing for a few months, and took to her bed some five weeks ago. She was well known throughout the district, having had charge of the Don Hotel for several years. She leaves one son and a daughter, the latter being married to Mr. R. Earle, of Launceston. The funeral will take place at the Don Cemetery to morrow afternoon.

Late Mr. W. P. Lapthorne
The funeral of the late Mr. W. P. Lapthorne, Don, took place yesterday at the old Don cemetery. The last rites were performed by Rev. J. C. Compton, of Latrobe. The chief mourners were a sister, Mrs. Earle, of Launceston, and Mr. R. Lapthorne, of Devonport (nephew). The carriers were Messrs. G. and T. Mansfield, G. Murfet and A. Febey. Deceased, who had passed the allotted span, had been a resident of the Don district, where he was born, all his lifetime. He was unmarried.
