OBITUARY
Mrs. C. Lehman, Kindred.
A pioneer of the Kindred district in Mrs. Caroline Lehman passed away at the Ulverstone General Hospital on Sunday morning. The late Mrs. Lehman was a native of Wesley Vale, but had resided at Kindred for over 50 years. She enjoyed good health until two years ago and on account of her failing health found it necessary to enter the hospital about three weeks back. She gradually became worse and passed away on Sunday morning. She was in her 78th year. Deceased's husband predeceased her 14 years ago and she leaves a family of seven sons and one daughter.
The funeral took place at the Methodist cemetery, Kindred, yesterday afternoon. A service at the home and graveside was conducted by Rev. A. Vineer, who was assisted by Pastor R. Denney. In extending sympathy to the relatives of the deceased Pastor Denney referred to the loving Christina character of the deceased. He had been associated with the Lehman family for very many years, he said, and knew of no family in the district which was held in higher esteem.
There was a particularly large and representative gathering. The chief mourners were five sons, Messrs. Percy Leslie, Rueben, Wesley and George and daughter, Mrs. M. Cummings; brother, Mr. C. Weller, Devonport; son-in-law, Mr. M. Cummings, Kindred; brother-in-law, Mr. C. Lehman, Ulverstone; nephews, Messrs. J., T., F., and W. Lehman, Kindred; J., W., and L. Pierce, Wesley Vale; F. Piper and J. Foster, Wesley Vale; C. and M. Weller, Devonport. The sons who were unable to be present were Messrs. Charles (N.S.W.) and Elvin (Barney) Lehman (Geelong).
The casket bearers were four nephews while the carriers were Messrs. J. H. Chamberlain, M.H.A., F. Geale, D. Robertson and T. Healy.
Included in the large number of floral tributes was one from the Kindred Badminton Club.

LEHMAN - On May 7, 1922, at the Devon Hospital, Latrobe, Frederick Lehman, of Kindred. Aged 66 years. Burial Kindred Methodist Cemetery.

When it became known that Mr. F. Lehman had passed away at Devon Hospital on Sunday, general regret was felt throughout the district, where deceased had lived for 40 years. He leaves a widow, six sons and one daughter, to whom the sympathy of the community is extended. The funeral took place at the Methodist cemetery and there was a large and representative gathering. The pall-bearers were:- Messrs H. and S. Piper and L. and W. Pearce (nephews). The Rev. Goldsworthy conducted the service at the house and graveside.
