LUMSDEN – The funeral of the late Robert Lumsden will leave his late residence, Fenton Street, Devonport, to-morrow, November 6, at 12 o’clock, for the Bluff Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation. Jeffrey, undertaker

The Advocate 5th November 1919

The late Mr. Robert Lumsden passed away at his residence, Fenton Street, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday after a long illness. He came to reside at Devonport about 18 months ago, having previously been resident at Pioneer for 10 years and for 15 years prior to that was manager of the Fordon estate for Colonel Cameron. Recently he paid a visit to the mainland for health reasons, but did not improve and returned home by the ss Rotomahana last Wednesday. The immediate cause of death was diabetes. He was 59 years of age and leaves a widow and family of two sons and three daughters, the youngest of whom is 13 years. The funeral is take place at the Bluff Cemetery at noon to-morrow.

The mortal remains of Mr. Robert Lumsden were interred in the Bluff Cemetery in the afternoon. Rev. G. Rowe officiated at the graveside. The chief mourners were Mr. R. Lumsden (son), Mr. J. Tolland (brother-in-law), and Mr. H. Tolland (nephew).
