Another old resident of the district joined the great majority on Thursday night, making another gap in the diminishing band of Devon pioneers. Mr. Samuel McCall arrived in the district in 1854 and was a resident at the Don until about three years ago, when having been left some property in Ireland he made a trip to the old land, and since his return had spent the evening of his days quietly with his son, Mr. H. W. McCall in West Devonport, where he passed away, as above, at the good old age of 75. In addition to the son named, another son resides at Queenstown, a daughter is married to Mr. W. Mansfield of the Don, another is unmarried. The funeral of the deceased is appointed to leave the residence of his son, Harold Street, at 2.15-p.m. to-morrow for the Don cemetery.
