We regret to announce the death of Mrs. Annie Montgomery, wife of Mr. Robert Montgomery, of the Don. The deceased, who was 35 years of age, had been ailing for some time past from a painful affliction of one of her arms, and had lately developed consumption. During the past few weeks she had been very low in health, and a few days ago commenced to sink gradually, passing peacefully away at an early hour on Thursday morning. The deceased was the second daughter of Mr. T. Roberts, one of the old residents of the Don, but who is now living in Zeehan. In her childhood she was a scholar at the Don Congregational Sunday school, and was afterwards a teacher, and having natural musical abilities, was appointed organist, a post which she filled for some years, and during that time the church had the best musical combination on the Coast. The deceased was well known in the district, her Christian-like and charitable disposition gaining the respect and esteem of a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She leaves a family of four children, the youngest being only a few months old. Much sympathy has been expressed with the bereaved husband and family in their sad affliction. The funeral of the deceased lady will leave her late residence, “Roseneath,” on Monday, at 2 o’clock.
