Death of Mrs. Mott, Sen.

Death claimed another old resident of the district at noon yesterday in the person of Mrs. Esther Ann Mott, widow of the late Robert John Mott, who died at Forth about 7 years ago. At the time of her death deceased was in her 80th year, and had resided in the Forth and Ulverstone districts for about a quarter of a century. Mrs. Mott arrived in Tasmania when only seven years of age. The early part of her life was spent in the eastern part of the Island, and just prior to settling on the coast, she resided with her husband and family in the Longford and Cressy districts. Deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and was highly esteemed for her Christian character and loving disposition; she leaves a family of five sons and four daughters, all of whom - excepting one daughter-are married and resident on the coast. The funeral will leave her sons residence, Gawler road, at noon tomorrow (Friday), for the Methodist cemetery, Forth, arriving there at half past three o'clock.

Frederick Mott

On Sunday afternoon (writes our Forth correspondent) the funeral of the late Mr. Fred Mott took place, when a very large number of relatives and friends followed the remains. On arrival at the Wesleyan Church, the body was carried by four young men from the hearse. The beautiful service for the dead and a short address were delivered by the Rev. J. E. T. Green, the “Dead March” being played and a hymn sung. The long procession then wended its way to the Wesleyan cemetery, where the last sad rites were said over the remains of one who was much respected. Great sympathy was expressed for the bereaved parents and family. This is the third funeral that has taken place within the last few weeks
