The death occurred early on Saturday morning of Mrs. Margaret Stack, at the age of 86 years. She was comparatively hale and hearty until about a week ago. Death was due to senile decay. Deceased was a native of Westbury and came to Devonport over 50 years ago. She was married twice, and both husbands pre-deceased her. She leaves two surviving sons, Messrs. James Stevenson of Devonport, and H. A. Stevenson of W. A. Her only daughter, Mrs. W. H. Buck, died about 17 years ago, and her other son, Mr. J. Stack, passed away a few months ago at Devonport. Deceased leaves also 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The funeral took place yesterday at the Forth Catholic Cemetery, the Ven. Archdeacon Beechinor performing the last rites. The chief mourners were Messrs. J. H. Stevenson (son), H. Devlin of Ulverstone (brother) W. H. Buck Devonport (son-in-law), F. J. Buck and W. French (grandchildren) C. Harrison and F. Milbourn (nephews). The carriers were Messrs. J. Wood, J. Hammond, W. French and H. Milbourne. Deceased, at the time of her death, was the oldest lady resident of Devonport, and it is interesting to record that she was the second white child born at Westbury.

OLD RESIDENTS END
On Saturday Mrs. Margaret Stack, whose residents on the Mersey covers fully fifty years, joined the great majority at the advanced age of 86 years. She was said to be the second white child born at Westbury and was a well know personage in the early days of the Mersey. One of her sons (Mr. H. A. Stephenson) was its champion sculler, and at one time occupied a seat on the Devonport Town Board, but is now resident at Fremantle, W. A. Another son, James, resided with her and her only daughter Mrs. W. H. Buck, died some years ago. There were 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The deceased was buried in the Forth Catholic Cemetery on Sunday afternoon, many from Devonport and some from Ulverstone paying the last respects to a worthy citizen. The Ven.
