STANTON – On the 23rd, at her residence, Rooke Street, Florence Edith, the dearly beloved wife of J. H. Stanton, aged 24 years.

FUNERAL

The funeral of the late Mrs. J. H. Stanton will leave her residence, Rooke Street, West Devonport, at 3 o’clock tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon. Friends will please accept this intimation.

Mrs. Stanton, wife of a local resident, underwent a serious operation yesterday, at the hands of Dr. Smith, assisted by Dr. Stewart, the administration of Chloroform being attended to by Dr. Payne. For four hours the patent was under the influence of the anesthetic and after coming to seemed, according to the reports of the medical men, to be progressing favorably, but in the evening she succumbed. The deceased had not long been married and was quite a young woman. The interment will take place at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.
