The death occurred at Devonport yesterday afternoon of Mr. James Taylor, an old resident of the town, at the age of 76 years. For some years past the deceased had practically been an invalid, as the result of attacks of rheumatism, which latterly affected the heart, ultimately causing death. He was born in Staffordshire, England and came to Tasmania some 32 years ago and six years later he took up his residence at Devonport. He was employed for several years on the railway as a repairer and was highly respected. He leaves a widow and family consisting of one son, Mr. James Taylor (Devonport) and six daughters, viz Mesdames Best (Beaconsfield), Griffiths (Magnet), Douglas (Devonport), and Miss Lucy, Mary and Lizzie Taylor (Devonport).
