FUNERAL

The Advocate 19th May 1920
Much regret was expressed in Devonport and Latrobe yesterday at the news of the death of Mrs. Dr. Walpole, which occurred during the previous night. The deceased lady was 60 years of age and on Monday was apparently in her usual health, but during the night she was the victim of a sudden seizure, which proved fatal. Deceased was well known through her charitable deeds and during the early stages of the war she interested herself in assisting the Belgian and Servian relief funds and was one of Devonport’s most active war workers. She leaves a husband, three sons and a daughter. One son, Mr. Eric Walpole, is a resident of East Devonport, while the two other sons are in England. The daughter is the wife of Dr. Cumpston the Commonwealth’s Chief Health Officer. The greatest sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband and family in their loss.
