News Item

The death occurred at the Don yesterday afternoon of Mrs. Isabella Webb, relict of the late Thomas Isaac Webb, one of the early residents of the district. For some time the deceased had been residing in Launceston, but a few days ago she came to the Don on a visit to her son, and was taken ill, death being due to an internal complaint. The deceased was born at Edinburgh, Scotland, 71 years ago, and came to Tasmania some 66 years ago. She was well known and highly respected in the district by reason of her kindly disposition. She leaves five sons, including Mr. W. A. Webb, of Don, and Mr. A. Webb, of Launceston, and three daughters. The remains will be conveyed to Launceston for interment by this afternoon’s train.

WEBB – On February 16, 1963, at the residence of her son Mr. David Webb, River Road, Deloraine, Edith Elizabeth, beloved wife of the late William Archibald Webb, late of Don, and loved mother of Arch (Don) and David (Deloraine), stepmother of Don (Hobart) and Mac (Devonport), and beloved sister of Mercy (Mrs. M. Nothrop, Don), in her 80th year.

WEBB – The funeral of the late Mrs. Elizabeth (Edith) Webb is appointed to leave the residence of her son, River Road, Deloraine, THIS DAY (Monday), at 2 p.m., arriving at the Don Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. for a service. At the conclusion interment will take place in the old Don cemetery. Friends are respectfully invited to attend. F. E. Watts and Son, Latrobe.

Webb – Jeffrey

On Wednesday afternoon a quiet wedding took place at the residence of Mrs. D. Jeffrey, Don, when Mr. W. Webb and Miss Edith, fifth daughter of Mrs. Jeffrey, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. The Rev. Benson Barnett performed the ceremony.
