A young child of Mr. H. Weller, of the Esplanade, West Devonport, succumbed late on Thursday evening to an attack of diphtheria. We may mention that several cases of diphtheria at Devonport have been reported to the Local Board of Health by Dr. Payne.

DEATH
WELLER – On July 14, at her parents’ residence, Esplanade, Devonport, Myrtle, second daughter of H. and M. A. Weller, aged 26 years.

The death occurred yesterday at her parents’ residence, of Miss Myrtle Weller, second daughter of Mr. Harry Weller, of the Esplanade, Devonport. The deceased had been ailing for a considerable time from a lung complaint and was 26 years of age. She was born at the Don. Sincere regret will be expressed by her many friends at her early demise, as she was a favourite with all she came in contact with. The funeral will probably take place to-morrow.

FUNERAL
WELLER - The funeral of the late Henry Weller will leave his late residence, Victoria Parade, Devonport, at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow (Tuesday) for the Mersey Bluff Cemetery.

The death occurred on Saturday morning of a well-known Devonport resident in the person of Mr. Henry Weller, at the age of 55 years. The deceased had been ailing for a lengthy period from a lung complaint and the sad event was therefore not unexpected. He leaves a family of four sons and five daughters to mourn their loss. Prior to his illness the deceased took an active interest in the Devonport Poultry Society and pigeon shooting matches, being a good shot in his day. he was a member of the M.U.I.O.O.F., having been initiated in the Latrobe lodge many years ago. The funeral will take place at the Mersey Bluff cemetery to-morrow afternoon.

The funeral took place at the Mersey Bluff cemetery yesterday of the late Mr. Henry Weller and despite the inclement weather it was largely attended, all parts of the district being represented. The coffin was covered with a profusion of floral tributes. The body was carried to the grave by Messrs. J. D. Kinsella, R. Lathey, W. Lawler and J. A. Wilmot, members of the Latrobe and Devonport lodges of the M.U.I.O.O.F., and there was also a good muster of the brethren in the sad procession. The chief mourners were Messrs O. and F. Weller (brothers) and the three sons of the deceased. The burial service was read by the Rev. H. B. Atkinson, B.A. while the mortuary arrangements were carried out by Mr. J. Deverell.

Mrs. M. A. Weller, Devonport
The death occurred at her residence, Victoria Parade, Devonport, yesterday, of Mrs. Mary Ann Weller, widow of the late Mr. Henry Weller. She was born in the Wesley Vale district and was a sister of Mr. C. Brown and the late Mr. John Brown. Mesdames Peirce and Piper of Wesley Vale are sisters. The late Mrs. Weller had been a resident of Devonport for many years. She leaves a grown-up family of four sons and three daughters. Of the sons, Messrs. Charles, Douglas and Leonard Weller are residents of Devonport, while another son (George) is on the mainland. The funeral will take place this afternoon.
